ATLAS DIVINE _
For over 13 years, Atlas Clothing has provided Perth with cutting-edge fashion from local and overseas designers. Started originally as a menswear-only store, owners De and Jeff began importing mainly English labels, and stocking De's own unique designs. However, as requests made by female customers grew, the pair decided to expand their range to also include women's fashion. Gradually too, they reduced their overseas buying, and stocked more alternative Australian labels to now include a wide range of local and interstate designers, expanded regularly, and carrying everything from big-name labels to lower priced items. Their dedication to being innovators of fashion means that most of their clothes and accessories can't be found anywhere else. Recently inspired by a visit to a store in Bangkok, and its quirky themed interior, co-owner De decided to give up designing her own range, and use the space behind-the-scenes to create some changes. Under the theme of an 'old lady's house', the shop has slowly been re-decorated to include gilded mirrors, antique wallpaper, dressing tables, and vintage seating. And with the reinvention comes a new name: Atlas Divine. No longer sticking to just clothing, the store now stocks shoes, sunglasses, jewellery, belts, hats and Adidas kids-wear, and will start to include various other 'divine' treats such as creams and lotions.
